I haven’t yet been to Israel, but I am Jewish and so feel it’s just a matter of time. Here are some apps I am using to plan my trip.
Inbal Jerusalem Hotel
This free app is for the Inbal Jerusalem Hotel. It has all of the info about the hotel including photos and videos, and exclusive discounts. You can use it to contact the hotel with one click, and access guest relations. Also has virtual postcards you can send to people – and tons of info about surrounding sites, restaurants, activities, etc. Great interface, very useful. Recommend.
This app costs US$1.99 – it shows you the direction of the Holy Western Wall in Jerusalem. It also lets you send a message to be printed out and put into the wall, and a tracking system to ensure your message arrives.
This app is actually worth the US$9.99 in that it is a very comprehensive virtual guidebook for the whole country of Israel. It’s got history, climate, geography, government, population, economy, culture, cities, maps, tourist info, shopping – really everything you could need including a book (The Wars of the Jews) and even Sudoku. Recommend.
Israeli News English
This app is an RSS feeder for Israeli news sites in English. A great way to keep up on the latest news in Israel.
This free app has food and drink info for many cities, including Jerusalem. It works differently for every city and pretty well for Jerusalem
