Android App Video Review: White House

May 17, 2011

If you’re one of those political types that loves to know what the President is doing every day of his life, or especially one of those “GoBama!” super supporters, then the official White House app is for you. It gives you access to videos, photos, news, and the official blog of the White House, whenever, wherever, entirely for free.

The app is set up very well, and the menus have a certain flow to them, creating great ease of access. It’s the official app of the official White House website to give you an idea of the content. Whatever you want to know about the Obama Administration’s most recent actions, you can find out using this app. Whether it’s the President’s weekly address, appearances at memorials, or the First Lady visiting a college, it’s all here.

A lot of people have been accusing this app of draining their batteries. This is apparently because of polls running in the background, as well as the default automatic update setting of every hour. Go ahead and change it to every twelve hours, since updates are never that frequent, and you can manually refresh the app for yourself anyway.

There isn’t really that much more to say about it. It’s a very niche app giving very specific news for a very niche group of people. If you are hard core about following the president, or just politics in general, then give this one a shot. As interesting as it all may be, I prefer to let my really political friends tell me what I need to know while I continue playing games. Download the free Appolicious Android app
