Video Review: Shazam Encore

Aug 9, 2010

Shazam is one of those apps that when you first see it, it blows your mind. After using it for a while you forget how you were ever able to survive without it.

The creators of Shazam have seen record numbers of downloads for their app and because of this they decided to make the app cost something.

Shazam Encore is essentially the same thing as its older free version. The free version now only allows for 5 tags a month while the paid version offers unlimited. This makes sense that the company would like to make some money off their app but Encore isn’t just a rehashing of old stuff. There are some new features that make it a great source for music information and looking up artists.

The app now also provides ways to share your music experience as well as find ticket information for concerts that may be in the area or for that specific artist.  Overall, the app isn’t anything new and it felt more like I was paying for something I used to have before the update. It is still a great app that I definitely recommend. Check it out.
