Finally, Asphalt 8: Airborne adds new features to the beautiful racing series from Gameloft.

WeatherBug update (Free)

What’s it about? Get all the latest weather information you need, from forecasts and precipitation to severe weather warnings, with Weatherbug.

What’s cool? Like other weather apps, WeatherBug endeavors to bring its users an accurate picture of what they can expect from the outdoor conditions in their area. The app provides lots of information about the weather of the day, with things like temperature, cloud cover, barometric pressure, precipitation and more data all covered. It also lets you know what you can expect with forecasts, shows you what’s going on at any given time with live weather cams, and lets you check out forecasts for locations around the world. WeatherBug’s new update adds a 10-day forecast, a new “Hurricane Center” with information specifically about the storms, and a new user interface for tablet users.

Who’s it for? If you could use a handy weather app, check out WeatherBug.

What’s it like? Also worth checking out are The Weather Channel and Weather Underground.

Clipless (Free)

What’s it about? Deal-hunting app Clipless finds you “contextual” deals by bringing you coupons and sales you can use when you’re actually out shopping at various stores.

What’s cool? Lots of apps provide lists of deals that are around you, but Clipless tries the reverse position – instead, it finds out where you are and finds deals for that store. The app uses location tracking capabilities to figure out what store you’re in while you’re shopping, then runs through lists of deals and brings you those coupons and sales you can use while you’re actually out. Clipless scours some 2,000 deal sites and alerts users when they’re near one they might be able to use, and you can control which deals pop up and how frequent your notifications are.

Who’s it for? Savvy shoppers looking to save some money should try finding some deals with Clipless.

What’s it like? LivingSocial and Groupon are two more great apps for finding deals near you.

Asphalt 8: Airborne (Free)

What’s it about? The latest entry into Gameloft’s gorgeous racing title adds new multiplayer features and lots of ways to take your car airborne.

What’s cool? The Asphalt series is well-known for fast-paced racing gameplay and great 3-D graphics on tablets and smartphones, and Asphalt 8 adds to that pedigree with more great experiences and a few new tricks up its sleeve. The game packs some 47 cars for users to unlock and utilize across tons of racing events. It also introduces the ability to hit ramps and go airborne for the first time in the series, and throws in a new, asynchronous multiplayer experience to go along with the usual online races you can blast through in other Asphalt games. There’s quite a bit of content on offer.
