New Android apps worth downloading: Hulu Plus and SO.HO updates, Twin Blades

Our new apps worth downloading today start with a pair of quality updates. First off is streaming app Hulu Plus, which brings you great TV shows and movies, and has been updated to support additional devices. Second is SO.HO, a social network launcher that brings your Twitter and Facebook feeds to your home screen, and has been updated to include Instagram, too. Finally, we have side-scroller Twin Blades, in which a nun has to take on hordes of zombies.

Hulu Plus update (Free)

What’s it about? Stream movies and TV shows from Hulu on your mobile devices with Hulu Plus, giving you way to watch some of your favorites no matter where you are.

What’s cool? By now, you’ve likely heard about Hulu Plus, the video streaming service backed by NBC that lets users watch tons of current and past TV shows and movies. The subscription service gives you access to Hulu’s full library on your mobile devices, allowing you to stream video over a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection just about anywhere. Hulu’s big boon is that it often includes current TV shows and the most recent episodes, allowing you to stay up with your favorite shows. The app’s most recent update adds support for new devices, including the HTC One, the HTC Droid DNA, and the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Who’s it for? If you’re already a Hulu subscriber or like streaming your TV shows, you should definitely get the Hulu Plus app.

SO.HO update (Free)

What’s it about? Bring your social networks to your Android device’s home screen with launcher app SO.HO.

What’s cool? SO.HO is an app specifically designed to launch your social networks and keep you tied in to what’s going on with your friends across various platforms. Instead of opening up multiple apps, however, SO.HO integrates networks such as Facebook and Twitter to your home screen, so you can see your news feed and timelines right when you pick up your phone. You also have the capability of post status updates and like and comment, as well. The latest update to SO.HO makes its coverage even more expansive, adding Instagram to the networks the app covers.

Who’s it for? If you’re a social networking junkie, you’re going to want to use SO.HO to keep in touch.

What’s it like? Try Facebook Home, Facebook’s homepage app, and don’t forget the standalone Twitter and Instagram apps.

Twin Blades (Free)

What’s it about? Side-scrolling brawler Twin Blades puts players in the role of a nun who has to fight zombies.

What’s cool? Previously only available for iOS devices, Twin Blades is a side-scrolling action game in which hordes of undead monsters need to be routed with various weapons, wielded by one awesome nun. Twin Blades features six different weapons you’ll need for maximum carnage, and you can also upgrade your abilities as you progress to make yourself even more effective in combat. You’ll also face some tough bosses along the way, so you’ll need all your skills to survive.

Who’s it for? Fans of action titles and old-school side-scrollers will find a lot to enjoy about Twin Blades.
