You’ll be hard-pressed to find an Android app that’s streaming the Oscars live this coming Feb. 26th, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have as much fun as your iPhone counterparts on Oscar night. The 84th annual Academy Awards is one of the glitziest events of the year, and is the Super Bowl of Hollywood elites and marketers. Film buffs, gossip junkies and everyone in between will be tuned in on Oscar night, and your Android’s second screen provides the perfect venue for nabbing a front row seat.

GetGlue (free)

The Foursquare of media, GetGlue tends to get a great deal of activity for big TV nights. Check-in for the Academy Awards, and amass stickers for your favorite films as well. Several of this year’s nominees have already been released on DVD and Blu-ray, so you can show your support with a check-in on GetGlue. See others’ reviews and determine which nominees’ films are worth a watch. Last year, GetGlue teamed up with the Oscars and other brands for specialized badges, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see similar promotions on GetGlue this year.
