Kicking off today’s Fresh Apps selection is Solid Explorer Beta2 which offers a more visually-oriented file manager experience on your Android device. This makes it not only more pleasant to use, but easier too. We’ve also got Tom Hanks’ Electric City, an app showcasing the new miniseries written by the Hollywood actor which can be viewed in its entirety directly on your smartphone or tablet. Finally, there’s Futurama Head-in-a-Jar Creator, a fun and throwaway diversion based on Matt Groening’s cult cartoon.

Admittedly, we neglected to mention this one last week when it was first released, so forgive us Futurama fans. It’s a fun little diversion that even non-watchers of the Matt Groening animated show might enjoy.

Simply put, this app lets you create your very own bizarre creature (in glorious technicolor) from hundreds of possibilities including robots, aliens and humanoids. Once created, you can easily share it with your friends on Facebook or Twitter and start your very own gruesome collection of heads in jars.
