Android App Video Review: Pocket God

Dec 9, 2010

Pocket God is a deity app for Android phones. The game was created to satisfy that sadistic side of you that wants to have you way with your own tribe of insignificant people. The game will enable you to choose the fate of an infinite amount of tribesmen with the flick of a finger.

Everything from sharks, lighting, hurricanes, to vampire bats is possible in this small cartoony game. The game starts quickly throwing you and your little people right into the action. A bar at the top will allow you to change the weather as well as toggle different features on and off.

This game is all about experimentation and trying different things. You can flick the people into the volcano to create an eruption, change the time of day to bring out different possibilities, or just have fun making them dance at your every whim.

There is no overall objective of the game and it doesn’t seem right to try and tack one on. The game is meant for quick pleasure and almost mindless fun. Feed them coconuts, make them suffer under a meteor, feed them to the shark, or send them flying with a flick, it’s all up to you what to do.

This game is updated frequently with another feature that allows for more fun. For the price being asked, this app is a definite buy. It has a ton of features and is great for killing some time or blowing some steam.
