If you’ve ever wondered whether your Android phone could be more efficient at quick communication, I’ve got HeyTell is essentially a walkie-talkie app for Android phones that turns the device into a push-to-talk phone. Once installed on both phones, users can tap a button to talk and have the message sent over to the other user. The app will notify the other phone there is a message and play it right away.

In my tests, it wasn’t exactly instant but it did the job well and kept good records of the conversation on the top. The app is available for free in the Android Market and just offers one more way to communicate on your smartphone with very little setup. Check it out.
