Android App Tablet Review: Tablet Keyboard Free

Oct 7, 2011

The stock keyboard that comes with your Android tablet has nice multi-touch capabilities. For many, however, it’s too much like a regular smartphone keyboard and can be awkward to use, especially when holding the tablet in landscape mode.

Tablet Keyboard Free installs easily and offers an easy-to-follow tutorial on launch so you can set it up quickly. The convenient split mode puts the keys on the left and right sides of the screen so it’s easier to type when holding the keyboard in your hands, using two thumbs.

It’s a full size keyboard with all the characters and symbols you’d expect. By upgrading to the full version, you’ll get a few more features like arrow keys and long-press keys to access accented characters.

It’s free at least, so you have nothing to lose by trying it, but it could do with a few more shortcut features to really make it a more attractive tablet keyboard alternative.
