Android App Tablet Review: CNN

The CNN App for Android Tablet offers a ton of information on the screen, but is surprisingly underwhelming.

Although the app’s content is separated by category, its written articles, podcasts, videos and slide shows are all thrown together on a massive scrollable screen. Users can also scroll down the app’s main screen to browse through the most current stories from the previous 24 hours. Scrolling right or left takes you to an entirely new category.

Once you find what you’re looking for, however, the app doesn’t disappoint. The functionality is stable, allowing you to tap into CNN’s world class journalism operation.

The iReport section showcases videos submitted by citizen journalists. So not only can you consume news on your Android tab, but also cover the action with its front and rear-facing cameras.

So having too many things to offer, in this case, is a nice problem to have.
